Three Years Later...

Updated: Apr 2

Three years later and the second blog is finally being written and somehow the first blog was lost before anyone could even read it (mostly was about how the business was started - see About Us page). We have been busy, busy! Rachel and I have learned so much about growing flowers, owning our own business, about the importance of support of our customers, and so on. In the past 3 years, Rachel had another child, a girl named Riley and I had my first child, a boy named Waylon. We needed some help to keep our customers supplied with beautiful blooms and our busy lives, so our mother, Sarah Shumaker, joined our team. We are moving into our 4th season now and have tried to find our niche in the flower industry. Thus far, our flowers have been used for weddings, sold at farmers markets, sold at the farm to individuals, and used at many other private celebrations. We have hosted several flower arranging classes and had U-pick days at the farm. Our flower variety and selection has more than tripled in the last 3 years. We have used low tunnels to keep our flowers safe in the cold and are excited to say we put up our first high tunnel for the 2021 season. This will help us to bring our customers blooms earlier in the season. There are so many new exciting things blooming in the future of Carolina Blooms and we hope to share more with you all very soon!
